Integration credentials

First of all, you have to provide the integration credentials to connect your Infrascale Dashboard account.

  1. On the ConnectWise Automate server, open Automate Control Center.

  2. Click System > Configuration > Dashboard.

  3. Go to Config > Integration > Infrascale Plugin Configuration tab:

    1. In the Web Api Username box, enter your API username.

    2. In the Web Api Password box, enter your API password.

      infoCurrently, there is no automatic way to obtain API username and password. To get these, please contact Infrascale Support.
    3. In the Dashboard User box, enter your Infrascale Dashboard username.

    4. Click Save and close Automate Control Center.

  4. Restart any open Automate Control Center instances to apply the settings.

Clients/companies mapping

After providing the integration credentials, you have to match your ConnectWise Automate clients with Infrascale companies.

  1. On the ConnectWise Automate server, open Automate Control Center, and go to Browse.

  2. On the Clients tab, right-click the name of a client, and then click Open.

  3. On the Infrascale tab, from the Infrascale Company (Client) drop-down list, select

    • an existing relevant company to match, or

    • Create New to create and match a new company.

    infoOptionally, you can also select Auto-install backup agent during onboarding to deploy the backup agent to each computer within the client, and to create new backup accounts for each user.
  4. Click Save Mapping.

For existing Infrascale companies, information in the Infrascale Company (Client) Details and Policy and MSI groups is pulled automatically from the Dashboard.

Backup account and policy settings

Integration allows you to configure the default backup account and policy settings to be used when deploying the backup agent and creating new backup accounts. These settings are also available when creating a custom MSI package in the Infrascale Dashboard (Apps > Create Custom MSI).

  1. On the ConnectWise Automate server, open Automate Control Center, and go to Browse.

  2. On the Clients tab, right-click the name of a client, and then click Open.

  3. Go to the Infrascale tab, and change settings in the Policy and MSI group as needed.

    Setting Description
    Username Template Template for account username to be used when creating new backup account(s).

    Can be specified literally (for example, user), or using variables ({username} and {domain}), or via combination of those (for example, user@{domain}, {username}@company).
    {username} is the name of a Windows user, under which MSI is installed. {domain} is the name of a Windows domain, to which the computer belongs.
    Email Template Template for account email address to be used when creating new backup account(s).

    Can be specified literally (for example, user@company.com), or using variables ({username} and {domain}), or via combination of those (for example, user@{domain}, {username}@company.com).
    {username} is the name of a Windows user, under which MSI is installed. {domain} is the name of a Windows domain, to which the computer belongs.
    Default User Quota Cloud space (in GB) per user backup account.
    MSI Expiration Date After this date, installation package of the backup agent will be invalidated. This helps to avoid installing an outdated version of the backup agent.
    User Visible If selected, the user will see the backup agent installation process and its further activities. Otherwise, all will be hidden.
    Policy to use in MSI Default backup policy to be applied to backup accounts.
    You can edit the current backup policy, assign another existing backup policy, or create and assign a new backup policy.
  4. Click Save to apply changes.
