IBDR Direct FAQ

What is the minimum internet connection bandwidth required for IBDR Direct?

A minimum internet connection upload bandwidth of 100 Mbps is required to ensure reliable operation and optimal performance. The more the better.

IBDR Direct is supported on Windows 10 and later and Windows Server 2012 R2 and later. Linux is not supported.

Boot Orchestration is not applicable to IBDR Direct, as the solution is designed to protect individual systems rather than multi-server environments. Orchestration relevant for coordinating recovery across interconnected systems, which falls outside the scope of this offering. For more complex infrastructures with multiple servers, consider using the appliance-based version of IBDR (physical or virtual), which supports orchestrated recovery of entire environments.

No. Although incremental backups are typically smaller than full backups, performing and uploading them on an hourly basis would place significant demands on bandwidth. In addition, IBDR Direct uses a “Fixed” retention plan, which retains one backup per day. If more frequent backups are required, the appliance-based version of IBDR (physical or virtual) is recommended.

IBDR Direct offers 12 bundles that combine Cloud Storage and Cloud Boot options. Storage capacities are available in 1 TB, 2 TB, 3 TB, and 4 TB, and is paired with 16 GB RAM Boot, 32 GB RAM Boot, or a No Boot option.
