When attempting to migrate a VM from one host to another (vmotion) you may receive the following error message:
This is a known issue in VMware. Sometimes after a backup runs VMware will not release the migration lock even though it is asked to do so. This can happen if the backup fails, but will also sometimes happen without failed backups.
To resolve this issue you can run another backup with our CFA
, which will give us another chance to tell VMware to release the lock. If that does not release the lock there are instructions in the following KB article from VMware to manually release the lock https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2110152
