Backup fails with something like the following error message in the Message Logs:
"bsock.c:237 gethostbyname() for host "XXXX" failed: ERR=Authoritative answer for host not found."
This error message indicates that the Address of the client (found under Clients > Edit) is not resolvable.
By default, the CFA uses the client name as the address and this field needs to be adjusted.
This can be resolved two ways:
  • Verify that the hostname is resolvable via DNS, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Change the address to IP address rather than hostname.
