The issue may appear that SQL Server backup option is not shown in OBRM on the machine where Microsoft SQL Server is installed.

What to check in case SQL Server option is not appearing:
1 -
Check whether "SQL Server VSS Writer" is presented among other SQL services in Services (services.msc):

In case "SQL Server VSS Writer" is not appearing, check following:
1.1 - whether Shared Management Objects (sharedmanagementobjects.msi) and Microsoft System CLR Types (SQLSysClrTypes.msi) are be installed;
1.2 - in case the above components are installed, try to repair SQL Server installation, i.e. how to repair SQL Server 2012.

2 -
In case "SQL Server VSS Writer" exists but SQL backup option is not appearing in OBRM, check the state of the VSS writers:
- open cmd.exe as Administrator, type (without quotes) "VSSadmin list writers"

and provide its output in the ticket.
In case of SQL Server VSS writer does not exist in the list, check following:
- change the SQL server VSS Writer service to login as the Administrator (domain Administrator in case the machine is under a domain) rather than Local System Account, then restart the "SQL Server VSS Writer" service;
- check whether another backup software is installed, i.e. "Symantec Backup Exec 2010" (they may hide, "lock" or rename standard SqlServerWriter);
- submit OBRM logs - the main window Menu > Display logs. There may be specific errors regarding VSS;
- provide the steps 1.1 and 1.2.
